Where exactly is it and how to get to the Bucharest’s Thermal Spa

The Bucharest Thermal Spa is located around a forty minute drive north of the old town of Bucharest (based on peak traffic times) but can be as short as 22 minutes if the traffic conditions are favourable. It is quite close to Bucharest airport, only a ten minute drive away.

A taxi ride from the centre of Bucharest to the spa will cost approximately £ 16 but…..please ensure you book your taxi through Uber or Bolt as many travellers have reported that when they have hailed the city taxis they have been charged extortionate rates. With Uber and Bolt you know in advance exactly how much the taxi fare is going to be.

There used to be a free shuttle bus which took you from the city centre to Therme Bucharest but this has been discontinued although the 442 bus still goes to the thermal spa but for the modest fare of around £ 0.45 for a one way ticket.

You can catch the 442 bus from Piata Presei. The bus runs about 2-3 times an hour during most of the day.

Three Zones – Three Experiences

Galaxy, The Palm and Elysium are the three zones which the Bucharest thermal spa is based around. Each zone has been carefully designed to provide a different experience to the others and to keep each vibe totally separate.

Galaxy Zone

The Galaxy zone is all about fun and frolics for the entire family.  Loads of water slides to keep everyone entertained and a wave pool that mimics the sea. It is a great family day out.

The Palm Zone

Pool bars, mineral pools and maybe the largest urban outdoor beach in Europe. The Palm zone offers an oasis of calm and relaxation thanks to it’s minimum age limits of 14.

Elysium

Elysium is the place to treat your mind and body. This zone focuses on state of the art treatments to pamper and relax a tired body.
